Project 2 Blog

The use of sound is never something I’ve used really in an artistic way, so I am hoping to grasp the basics of the program and artistic vision in the coming weeks. The tools in Audition are close to other adobe programs so it has not been too hard getting used to the software. My artistic vision for this project has been a little harder to grasp. I think the path I want to go down is something like coming out of a cave, starting in a musty creepy place, and transitioning to a more pleasant-sounding atmosphere. I want the first minutes to feel like everything is very distant and dream-like, with occasional breaks to place the listener in the foreground. I want these far away echos sort of rising up into a chaotic burst eventually, this would be where I would move the listener to a brighter soundscape full of life and energy. To end things I’d like to reintroduce some of the earlier darker sounds remixed to give them new meaning to the scene.
